Roles and Responsibilities
As an Accessibility Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring that digital products meet accessibility standards and provide an inclusive user experience. You will utilize core skills in software testing and quality assurance. Your expertise in JAWS, AXE, WAVE, NVDA, Mac voiceover, Web Accessibility Tool Bar, Color contrast analyzer, Adobe Acrobat, screen magnifiers, speech recognition software will be essential in identifying and addressing accessibility issues. Additionally, your knowledge of HTML and experience with assistive technologies such as NVDA and JAWS will enhance our commitment to web accessibility. Hours : Monday - Friday
Telecommute: Available, but some in office work and meetings are required
Minimum Qualifications
1. A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a tester of software applications.
2. A minimum of three (3) years of accessibility/usability/inclusive design and testing experience and in-depth knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 09/2022 including principles and success criteria and Section 508 requirements, and accessibility/usability/inclusive design practices for IT software.
3. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in mobile and desktop browser testing using various operating systems.
4. A minimum of three (3) years of experience testing electronic document formats such as Word, Excel, or Portable Document Format (PDF) for WCAG 2.2 09/2022 and Section 508 compliance.
5. A minimum of three (3) years of experience with standard 508 testing tools such as JAWS, AXE, WAVE, NVDA, Mac voiceover, Web Accessibility Tool Bar, Color contrast analyzer, Adobe Acrobat, screen magnifiers, speech recognition software and alternative input devices.
6. A minimum of two (2) years of experience of detail documentation and recommended remediation of accessibility issues and concerns for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
7. Knowledge and experience of HTML semantics/tagging and Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA).
8. Either a relevant certification or a bachelor’s degree. Additional
qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education
on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience with accessibility tools such as JAWS
- PCI payment standards
Desirable Qualifications
1. Certified DHS Trusted Tester, IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies "CPACC," or equivalent professional.
2. At a minimum two (2) years of experience working in Agile or Hybrid environments, ensuring accessibility is integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
