What to expect as a service advisor:
- Monday – Friday (no nights or weekends)
- 7:30am – 6pm
- Hourly pay PLUS commission
- Benefits available: medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid holidays & vacation time
Responsibilities of the service advisor include:
- Greet customers with friendly, professional demeanor, whether on the phone or in person. Listen to customer concerns, gather necessary information, and schedule appointments.
- Discuss the customer’s vehicle issues, provide clear explanations of recommended services, obtain approval for inspections/repairs, and ensure they understand all procedures and costs before proceeding.
- Present all alternatives to customers, offering solutions while maintaining service quality. Close the sale professionally and follow company procedures for all transactions.
- Keep customers informed of the progress of their vehicle service. Never over-promise; always deliver on your commitments.
- Complete intake paperwork, review invoices, collect payments, explain warranty options, and ensure all customer documents are properly signed and processed.
- Assist in organizing workflow for technicians and ensure the work environment is professional, respectful, and productive.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and legal regulations, and stay up to date on all required paperwork.
Preferred qualifications of the service advisor:
- 2 years of experience as an automotive service advisor or service writer
- Ability to explain technical issues and repair options clearly to customers
