Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP, a prominent Long Island law firm, is seeking a highly motivated and goal oriented full time Paralegal to support its Condominium/Cooperative/Homeowners Association practice group in East Meadow, NY. Ideal candidate has a desire to learn and grow within the department.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in drafting, preparing, and proofreading documents using subject matter expertise. Interact with clients to obtain related necessary information and incorporate.
- Interact with NYS Attorney General’s Office and related state and regulatory agencies.
- Organize client files including the preparation of organizational documents required for submission of material to the New York State Attorney General’s Office.
- Prepare binders for submission of required documents to New York State Attorney General’s Office and for delivery to clients.
- Provide administrative support for department attorneys, including but not limited to, opening and maintaining client files; formatting documents; answering telephones and emails; scanning documents and making copies; scheduling and coordinating meetings and conference calls; and entering data into the billing system.
Qualifications:
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Able to meet deadlines, multi-task and available to work occasional overtime.
- Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills with the ability to effectively interact via telephone, e-mail and in-person with clients, attorneys, administrative agencies, etc.
- Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- 0 – 5 years paralegal experience; experience with general real estate or real estate transactions or regulatory agency a plus. Open to training individual with paralegal certificate – no prior experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or paralegal certificate preferred.

- Hourly rate: $32- $36 per hour, commensurate with experience
