So, what will the Systems Engineer at CertiPath do?
You will work in a fast-paced environment where you will take a hands-on approach to help solve complex technical problems that span multiple areas combining software and systems. You will install, integrate and support our High Assurance Visitor Management Solution. You will have the opportunity to work on and deploy cutting edge solutions for commercial and government clients alike. Note: This is a hybrid position. The Systems Engineer may be on site 2 to 3 days a week.
What does a typical day look like for the Systems Engineer?
Although no two days will be the same, you will:
- Implement software both on premise and as a cloud hosted solution.
- Integrate our High Assurance Visitor Management Solution with Microsoft Active Directory, Certificate Authority, Exchange, SQL Server and Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) and support client acceptance testing.
- Participate in client demonstrations, requirements gathering and prototyping sessions.
- Document user needs and required workflows.
- Troubleshoot deployed solutions using logs, database records, windows events and networking tools.
- Aid CertiPath’s software development team by relaying customer and personal feedback.
- Have the opportunity to assist in planning and facilitating prototyping sessions, customer demonstrations and requirements gathering meetings; perform fit gap analysis and propose implementation approaches; and provide "Best Practices” advice on using the off the shelf functionalities to meet federal high assurance security requirements.
- Perform implementation assurance and assist in customer acceptance testing.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology.

- Most of the clients you’ll spend time with are local to the DC area, but as CertiPath expands, you’ll have the opportunity to travel up to 10% of the time outside the DC area.
What qualifications do you look for?
You might be the Systems Engineer we’re looking for if you have:
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a government clearance (or you have recently held a government clearance)
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6 years of total experience, 4 years of which includes Engineering or Operations experience managing and supporting applications in a Windows Environment
- Experience with performing engagements on-site and virtually with external customers
- Proven skills in the following:
- Windows administration (IIS, Windows Server)
- Integrating with Microsoft Active Directory
- Supporting network, operating systems, database, application or data layers across multiple platforms and technologies
- Installing and configuring Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, servers and services physically and in the cloud
- Familiarity with SQL database usage
- Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies and in solving challenging problems
We’re extra impressed by folks with:
- An active government clearance
- 3 years information security experience
- Hands-on experience with installing or operating PACS in a Federal environment
- Physical Access Control System Certifications (Lenel OnGuard, Software House CCURE 9000, etc.)
- Experience with PKI and Federal smart card technology (smart card enablement, Windows smart card logon)
- Experience using Unified Modeling Language to capture business processes
- IT Security Certification (Security , CISSP, CSEIP, CSCIP/G)
