Certis USA is looking for a driven operations professional and experienced people manager. This critical position is responsible for overseeing the planning and coordination of Certis’s inventory and materials department. This position will work closely with internal operations customers and requires an excellent communicator with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. To excel in this role, a materials manager must have in-depth knowledge of the supply chain, budgeting processes and must be a change agent. Ultimately ensures all departments have adequate access to the materials that are needed to execute the master schedule. Executes the organization's overall policies, objectives, and initiatives. Oversee the organization's operational procurement, inventory, warehousing, and transportation functions. Actively participates in, as well as directs and coordinates, the activities of personnel engaged in the distribution of raw materials, ingredients and finished goods. Ensures compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications in accordance with company policies, principles, and procedures by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive operational excellence in materials management
- Achieve and strategic objectives for inventory levels and turns while minimizing stockouts; Maintains a fully effective cycle count program.
- Facilitates, manages, oversees and directs logistics team, inventory control & logistic processes.
- Ensure alignment with vision of company business and growth strategies.
- Recommend and implement solutions to existing materials movement processes to reduce waste and increase quality and efficiency.
- Coordinate the implementation of best-in-class materials management processes, coaching, mentoring, and training local team to achieve highest standards of operational efficiency.
- Oversee the material control, storage, transportation, and delivery of all company raw materials, purchased items and internally fabricated products.
- Track key metrics to gauge the success of the function.
- Assimilate, report and speak regularly to management and others about shortages and process improvements.
- Work closely with Operations to ensure alignment and effective execution of the master schedule
Work Environment:
Work is both indoors and outdoors (not temperature controlled), and may be exposed to loud noises, hazardous equipment, and contaminants. PPE and protective clothing are required in designated areas.
Skills, Qualifications and Competencies:
- Experience in supply planning and procurement, preferably in a global manufacturing or biotech organization
- Supervisory and project leadership experience, with a demonstrated track record to lead, manage, and motivate team members through direct line management or influence
- Fundamental understanding of materials management, planning, and procurement processes within a manufacturing organization
- Demonstrated success using and maintaining ERP/MRP systems; Computer skill proficiency in work processing, spreadsheets, databases, email and internet navigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations/Production Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Minimum 5 – 7 years in a solid manufacturing environment with an emphasis in supply/production planning.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP Designation
