What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper (PT) position at CERTUS Senior Living?
Responsible for ensuring the clean, sanitary, and attractive appearance of the community, including all interior/exterior common areas and resident apartments (assisted living facility).
Responsibilities:
- Vacuum carpets.
- Sweeping, mopping all tile, linoleum areas.
- Clean bathrooms: toilets, sinks, mirrors, showers.
- Clean interior windows and sills as needed.
- Change linens as necessary.
- Clean porches as necessary.
- Dust permanently mounted lamps and fixtures.
- Ensure all lights in and around buildings are in proper working order.
- Wash, dry and fold resident linens, resident personal laundry as contracted, and community linens.
- Complete a thorough cleaning of every occupied apartment weekly; cleaning a minimum standard of 10 apartments per day.
- Complete a deep cleaning of every occupied apartment twice per year to include carpet shampooing and linoleum waxing.
- Clean and restock service cart as needed.
- Use all cleaning equipment according to manufacturer’s guidelines and inform immediate supervisor of any problems with equipment.
- Ensure washers and dryers are kept clean, filters emptied and proper chemicals used at all times.
- Ensure that apartments are ready for rental within three business days of vacancy (unless extenuating circumstances exist).
- Clean unoccupied apartments at Supervisor’s request.
- Assist department managers with preparing for special events held in the community.
- Bring all concerns regarding housekeeping and laundry to the Maintenance Director in a timely manner.
- All roles at Certus may be required to support/assist a resident’s full body weight.
