The Role
As a vital member of our Program Analytics and Technology team, this role is essential for the successful execution of our projects. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Controls Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large-scale Capital Improvement Programs (CIP). This role is responsible for monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) at all levels within an organization of over 8,000 employees. The manager ensures effective project tracking, cost control, risk management, and performance analysis to support strategic decision-making and program success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Project Implementation Controls Process:
- Coordinate all Quarterly/Monthly Infrastructure Capital Project Implementation Plan updates.
- Report on scope changes, total project budgets versus forecasts, and schedule variances versus forecasts. Reports to include project and portfolio KPIs and variance narratives of projects.
- Ensure interdepartmental distribution of new Project Charters and Project Implementation Plans.
- Document project contingency use and ensure alignment with Construction Change Order Management (CCOM) System data and project forecasts; and
- Coordinate Project Charter and Project Implementation Plan addendums.
- Review the project's overall schedule performance and coordinate with an integrated master schedule
- Review and update project management and control processes and procedures.
- Manage Project Reporting Analyst and the development of a Monthly Capital Program Report.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Perform additional related duties as required
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of bachelor’s Degree and six (6) years of project financial and portfolio management experience; or in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma, and 12 years of project financial and portfolio management experience.
- Two (2) years or more of supervisory experience
- Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint and have experience developing reports from financial and project systems.
- Proficient with Earned Value Management (EVM) and AACE cost control methodologies.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Scheduling Software such as Primavera P6 and/or MS Projects
- Knowledge of integration techniques and tools for connecting PMIS with other enterprise systems.
Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Preferred Certifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
- AACE CCP (Certified Cost Professional) a plus
Work Environment:
This position may involve both office-based work and site visits to project locations, requiring occasional travel to oversee project progress and resolve on-site issues.
