Computer Evidence Specialists is looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals to assist Underage Purchasers in performing non-confrontational compliance checks on local tobacco retailers to ensure the sale of tobacco products to Underage Purchasers is restricted. The inspection is used to establish a retailer’s compliance with federal regulations.
Inspectors are required to be current Nebraska law enforcement officials. This work is conducted on a part-time, case-volume basis with flexibility relevant to the individual’s schedule. An ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a flexible schedule.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Travel with an Underage Purchaser; identify and verify provided site address
- Facilitate and observe undercover buys in coordination with trained Underage Purchasers
- Collect evidence of violations, such as photographs and tobacco products
- Complete compliance check inspection forms, detailing any violations, when applicable
- Review retailers for compliance of advertising & labeling signage
Required qualifications/skills:
- Must be a current Nebraska law enforcement official with a valid Peace Officer’s license
- Reliable transportation
- All Compliance Inspectors will complete a training session
- Attention to detail and strict adherence to deadlines and privacy
- Must be able to undergo a security clearance background check and become credentialed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
