We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technology Director to lead our technology initiatives, improve the integration of digital tools in education, and ensure our systems and infrastructure support the diverse needs of our educational stakeholders.
Position Summary
The Technology Director will oversee the agency’s technology strategy, infrastructure, and technology initiatives. This position will manage the development and implementation of technology plans, lead a tech committee, collaborate with stakeholders to integrate technology effectively into the work and education environment, and ensure that all technology systems align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead the strategic direction of technology in the organization, ensuring alignment with goals.
- Develop and implement technology plans, budgets, and policies that enhance the agency’s technological capabilities.
- Serve as the primary technology consultant, providing guidance and solutions to ensure internal success and the development of external consulting services to support the school districts we serve.
- Infrastructure & Support:
- Oversee the agency’s technology infrastructure, ensuring the security, reliability, and scalability of systems and networks.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical issues and provide high-quality support to educational staff.
- Cybersecurity & Data Privacy:
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies to protect sensitive student, teacher, and agency data.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding data privacy, including FERPA and CIPA.
- Professional Development:
- Provide training and professional development opportunities for educators and staff to enhance their technology skills.
- Keep the agency up-to-date on emerging trends in educational technology and advise on adoption when appropriate.
- Other Day-to-Day Duties:
- Manage Google environment and phone system
- Support employees with tech-related issues
- Manage E-Rate if applicable
- Update agency webpage in conjunction with Director of Communications
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education Technology, or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- At least 5-7 years of experience in technology management, with a focus on educational technology.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of educational technology platforms, tools, and best practices.
- Experience in managing technology infrastructure, networks, and cloud-based solutions.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse groups of stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management abilities.
- Knowledge of data privacy laws and educational regulations.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on implementation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
