Job Description
This role is responsible for leading the identification, assessment, measurement, and mitigation of company-wide risks.
Risk Identification & Management:
- Leverage expertise to identify potential risk exposures and develop solutions.
- Partner with key stakeholders to establish standards, processes, and best practices related to risk management.
- Manage all phases of the claims process.
Insurance & Risk Transfer:
- Evaluate insurance policies, including Property, Casualty, General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Directors & Officers (D&O), and Cyber-risk.
- Coordinate and submit insurance policy renewal data, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
- Negotiate favorable policy terms with brokers, underwriters, and third-party administrators.
- Schedule and organize property and exposure data for insurance purposes.
- Administer CCF's Chavez Insurance Captive, Inc.
- Provide timely notification and management of claims, working closely with insurance carriers.
- Investigate and resolve property and liability claims in collaboration with legal counsel.
- Respond to requests for certificates of insurance and claims history documents from the company's insurance brokers.
Vendor & Third-Party Risk Management:
- Manage relationships with third-party service providers, including insurance brokers, carriers, actuaries, and risk management consultants.
- Evaluate vendor insurance requirements and contract terms to minimize organizational risk.
- Review insurance terms in contracts and collaborate with the legal team to mitigate contractual risks.
Loss Control & Compliance:
- Develop and oversee safety programs for employees, Greenfield staff, and maintenance teams.
- Collaborate with departments regarding incident reports and claims or losses.
- Conduct insurance due diligence for new property acquisitions and developments.
- Establish and implement standards, processes, programs, and best practices related to risk management.
- Oversee workers' compensation programs, ensuring proper reporting and compliance.
- Develop plans to address and communicate loss events effectively across the organization.
Financial Risk & Forecasting:
- Monitor and analyze the cost of risk coverage, differentiating between corporate and property risks and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze qualitative loss data, including Maximum Probable Loss (MPL), and align claims data with financial forecasts.
- Track and manage financial impacts of contingent liabilities and guarantees.
- Develop deductible management strategies, ensuring alignment with reserve strategies and financial goals.
- Support Greenfield projects with Builder's Risk and Bonding requirements.
