Job Summary:
The Proofreader will identify, mark and correct errors in written content such as grammar, formatting, writing style and composition.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reviews final draft copies of content, prior to the publishing process.
- Identifies, marks and corrects errors in written content such as grammar, formatting, writing style and composition.
- Communicates with the content team when necessary during the revision process.
- Ensures consistent writing style and formatting in accordance with the organization's style guide.
- Ensures accurate spelling, punctuation and grammar.
- Works with other Quality Control staff members as necessary.
- Ensures revisions are incorporated successfully.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proper time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Thorough understanding of grammar, spelling and word usage.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
Recommended Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of content management software.
- Ability to adapt when formatting or writing style changes arise.
- Excellent mental flexibility in order to align with project priorities.
- Basic knowledge of AP Style Guide or a modified AP writing style.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field required.

- Previous related experience and demonstration of job skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
