Responsible for providing support in the manufacture of veterinary biologics through the performance of testing to verify the safety, purity, efficacy, and standards of composition of in-process and finished products prior to use and/or sale and distribution.
Responsibilities And Key Duties
Education – Undergraduate degree in biology, chemistry, or sciences preferred, or Associates degree plus equivalent work experience
Work Experience – No work experience required. One or more years’ experience working in Quality Control or relevant lab experience preferred
Other (consider certifications, specialized knowledge and/or training, etc.) – Must be able to become gown certified for entry into aseptic processing laboratories

Job Summary And Purpose
Responsible for providing support in the manufacture of veterinary biologics through the performance of testing to verify the safety, purity, efficacy, and standards of composition of in-process and finished products prior to use and/or sale and distribution.
Responsibilities And Key Duties
- Maintain the Quality Control Suite of laboratories in a clean and orderly state at all times
- Perform and document daily observations of facility and equipment
- Prepare disinfectants, tissue and bacterial culture media, and chemistry reagents for use in testing in accordance with the approved recipe records
- Maintain inventory of Quality Control Laboratory as needed according to the scheduled testing
- Conduct Quality Control testing procedures, as assigned, in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures
- Performs microbiology and physical chemistry tests as assigned. Test methods may include: cell culture, spectrophotometry, sterility, mycoplasma, gram stain, ELISA, PCR, Moisture, pH and others
- Assist with other duties as assigned

- Capable of analyzing issues and proposing solutions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of quality systems tools and how to apply them based on global regulations (GLP, GCP, GMP).
- Demonstrated understanding of the quality impact on production
- Strong analytical skills
- Thorough attention to detail with respect to documentation, communication and organization
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to work under time constraints and deadlines

Physical Requirements
- Ability to read, write legibly and communicate in English
- Tasks frequently require prolonged, mental, and visual concentration
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis and 50 lbs on a periodic basis
- Able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Clean room manufacturing laboratory
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed, or outside of normal business hours, which may include weekends and holidays
