Your Missions
Seed Inventory Coordinator
Location: Lenexa, Kansas
This position is responsible for the maintenance and control of all master and working seed and cell lines used in the manufacture of animal health biological vaccines at the Ceva Animal Health Lenexa campus in accordance with USDA regulations and local site procedures.
Responsibilities And Key Duties
- Control and maintain accurate inventory of master and working seeds and cells, ensuring the physical security of all inventory at the Ceva Animal Health Lenexa campus
- Perform routine cycle counts to confirm inventory accuracy, including the investigation and resolution of discrepancies identified
- Manage incoming requests for and distribution of seeds and cells to support routine vaccine production
- Ensure accurate and timely recordkeeping of all seed and cell transactions both electronically and on paper
- Support routine seed production, assisting in final product inventory verification and physical receipt of inventory post-production
- Coordinate transfer of seed between campuses, including loading and unloading transfer dewars
- Monitor inventory status and location to meet Production demands
- Schedule and coordinate calibration and maintenance of seed and cell freezers
- Clean and maintain liquid nitrogen storage cages and other related equipment
- Support QC, GID and R&D sample requests, as needed

- Ability to review and analyze inventory, identifying and correcting inconsistencies or errors to ensure accuracy in all deliverables
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of good manufacturing/documentation practices and quality systems principles
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; intermediate skills in the creation and manipulation of documents / spreadsheets to support business-related reports
- Strong independent thinking, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Energetic and self-motivated; ability to work with minimal supervision
- Education: High School diploma required, Bachelor's degree in science-related field or equivalent preferred; equivalent, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a 4-year degree.
- Work Experience: 2 years of experience working in a regulated biotech or pharmaceutical environment required. Additional inventory management experience preferred.
- Other: Quality Management Systems (QMS) experience in USDA-regulated industry preferred.
- Frequent and continuous bending at the waist, twisting of the torso, and lifting moderately heavy objects, requiring the ability to perform these motions repeatedly with proper body mechanics to prevent injury
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Excellent visual acuity and color perception
- Ability to read, write legibly and communicate in English
- Ability to move between different buildings and Lenexa locations (by vehicle) to facilitate movement of seeds and cell inventory
- Position is located at the Ceva Animal Health Lenexa campus, but requires movement between multiple buildings on campus, as well as travel between production and storage locations
- Routine work in and around liquid nitrogen storage tanks (-196°C)
- Daily operation in a clean room environment, requiring clean room gowning and PPE, as applicable
- Local travel only between campuses.
