Function:
Engineering and Engineering ServicesJob Summary:You will provide technical support to Engineering, Operations and Maintenance for the plants electrical and instrumentation systems and to provide design input for projects. The Electrical Engineer will create and develop designs by analyzing a technical problem, field checking and specifying applicable equipment and developing cost and scheduling estimates. You will ensure design safety by incorporating applicable codes and standards and sound engineering design practices. You will report to the Maintenance Superintendent and work with a team including Reliability Engineers, Instrumentation & Controls Engineer, DCS Specialist, and Instrumentation & Electrical Technicians. You will work onsite; this is a safety sensitive position.Job Description:You Will:
Maintenance Support:
- Provide daily maintenance assistance to I&E technicians and operations.
- Solve plant-related issues promptly.
Long-Term Reliability:
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs for ongoing reliability.
- Engineering Designs:
- Develop electrical and instrumentation designs for assigned projects.
- Oversee work by external engineering firms or in-house teams.
Budget and Documentation:
- Create capital and expense budgets for electrical system reliability projects.
- Prepare project authorization documentation.
Change Management:
- Manage the MOC process for documenting instrumentation and electrical changes.
- Coordinate documentation updates with the engineering department.
Project Oversight:
- Assist with project start-up and troubleshooting.
- Ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance for on-site contractors.
You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 5 years related experience.
- Experience in a chemical processing environment and Management of Change.
- Previous experience in a technical role with vast expertise in instrumentation and electrical system reliability, troubleshooting and design.
- Working knowledge of medium voltage (5-15kV) and low voltage electrical equipment, including switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, motors, etc.
- Working knowledge of process instrumentation, valves, and equipment.
- Working knowledge of industry codes & standards, including NFPA, API, IEEE, NEMA, UL, ANSI, etc.
