The Ammonia Operations Superintendent plays a crucial role in ensuring that production plans are met efficiently, effectively, and safely every day. This position oversees the Production Department, directing efforts toward continued accomplishment of objectives including timely production, storage, and shipment of product.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Emphasize safety and environmental responsibility as core leadership values.

4. Implement and maintain programs for safety, cost control, reporting, and manpower training and development.
5. Monitor plant operating conditions and take necessary corrective actions to meet departmental objectives.
6. Direct and/or recommend changes to plant processes, equipment, procedures, or staffing to meet departmental goals.
7. Execute succession planning for operations leadership within the unit.
8. Oversee the progression and training planning for operation technicians.
9. Prepare and administer department budgets, assisting the Production Manager in preparing area budgets for long-term and short-term planning.
10. Assist the Production Manager in developing turnaround and outage plans.
11. Participate in CF production best practices.
12. Coordinate the performance of the Production Department.
13. Prepare operating strategies to meet production plans.
14. Coach and develop Production Department Supervisors.
15. Maintain effective communication and working relationships with employees throughout the plant.
16. Demonstrate sound judgment and initiative, coordinating actions to meet Production Manager plans.
17. Work independently and under conditions of high interdependency.
18. Develop and implement operational plans addressing maintenance turnarounds, employee development programs, and producing products in a timely and efficient manner.
Internal Controls:
This position establishes and implements processes and procedures to meet departmental internal controls requirements, ensuring established processes are followed as designed. Collaborates with the Internal Controls Department to identify deficiencies, develop corrective actions, and improve existing processes.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical) with experience in chemical manufacturing processes and supervisory experience.
2. Effective leadership skills.
3. Exposure to project management and implementation.
4. Excellent communication skills, including English fluency, written composition, and interaction with peers and supervisors.
5. Familiarity with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
6. Successful completion of pre-employment physical and drug screening.
