Maintenance Director

Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee the maintenance department at one of our manufacturing complexes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical manufacturing and excellent leadership skills.
• The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the facility's maintenance department. This includes overseeing a team of approximately 40 exempt and non-exempt employees responsible for maintenance and reliability of a chemical manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety and Compliance: Actively support and participate in established corporate and facility-based Environment, Health, and Safety programs. Ensure awareness of and compliance with facility EHS policies and safety standards throughout the Department.
2. Maintenance Programs: Ensure effective programs in safety, cost control and reporting, and manpower training, development, and utilization. Maintain and administer a competent force of maintenance personnel; train, counsel, and appraise performance of personnel.
3. Leadership and Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance supervisors and the human resources department to see that all aspects of personnel policy are equitably administered. Develop and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally to meet operational objectives.

Requirements:

• B.S. Engineering or related field, with 10 years of supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing facility.
• Effective leadership skills, including the ability to establish and articulate strategic and operating objectives.
• Experience managing large-scale turnaround projects from a maintenance standpoint, with preferred experience around nitrogen fertilizer facilities.
