The Ammonia Operations Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that the production plan for the Ammonia Plant is met in a safe, efficient, timely, and cost-effective manner each and every day.
Key Responsibilities:
Establishes and implements processes and procedures to meet departmental internal controls requirements. Ensures that established processes/procedures are followed as designed. Works with Internal Controls Department to identify deficiencies in existing processes/procedures, the need for new ones, and the extent to which such processes/procedures are being followed. Develops and implements corrective actions with regard to department internal controls as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
- Emphasize safety and environmental stewardship as a core value of leadership.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with other departments to obtain required assistance in meeting departmental objectives.
- Maintain effective employee relations.
- Implement effective programs in safety, cost control, and reporting, and manpower training, development, and utilization.
- Monitor plant operating conditions and take necessary corrective actions to meet department objectives.
- Direct and/or recommend necessary changes to plant processes, equipment, procedures, or staffing to meet departmental objectives.
- Execute a succession plan for the Unit's operations leadership.
- Oversee the progression and training planning for operation technicians.
- Prepare and administer department budget and assist Production Manager in the preparation of budget for the area, including long-term and short-term planning.
- Assist Production Manager in the preparation of turnaround and outage plans.
- Participate in CF production best practices.
- Coordinate the performance of the Production Department.
- Prepare operating strategy to meet production plan.
- Coach and develop Production Department Supervisors.
- Maintain effective communications and working relationships with employees throughout the plant.
- Mobilize quickly without acting impulsively, showing good judgment.
- Act on one's own initiative, and coordinate actions to plans of the Production Manager.
- Work independently and under conditions of high inter-dependency.

Required Qualifications:
- B.S. Engineering - Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with experience in chemical manufacturing processes to include Supervisory experience.
- Effective leadership skills.
- Exposure to project management and implementation.
- Solid communication skills including the ability to effectively converse in English, compose written documents, and interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
- Familiar with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
- Successfully complete pre-employment physical and drug screening.
