Job Responsibilities:
1. Environment, Health and Safety
- Promotes and adheres to all plant safety regulations in person, in work packages and in activities under personal control.
- Keeps up to date with company EHS policy as new information is made available.
- Is fully committed and proactively engaged in enhancing site safety culture and programs.
2. Communication, Coordination & Reporting
- Conducts information gathering and status review sessions in conjunction with the development and implementation of work assignments.
- Communicates with offsite vendors, as well as with user groups in the plant site to develop and implement work assignments.
- Prepares monthly status reports showing the status and progress of work assignments.
- Prepares reports to record the progress of specific assignments, as required, and records the progress made at meetings called to communicate or develop work assignments.
3. Planning
- Develops work packages including complete plans and well-defined work scopes as required for Project Engineering, Maintenance and Turnaround support. The work packages will include stand-alone assignments or assistance with projects and work scopes under other people's control.
- Develops design drawings and sketches as required to provide engineering details to work packages.
- Develops drawings and sketches as assigned to provide as-built details on completed work, as well as sketches to support on-site or off-site fabrication and repairs.
- Prepares cost estimates for materials and labor to meet the need for budget preparation and to support project justifications.
- Coordinates the planning and tracking of applicable MOC's from initiation to completion, including the documentation for audit purposes.
- Prepares and issues material requisitions.
4. Technical Support
- Becomes familiar with the plant design specifications, drawings and files in order to produce acceptable work packages with sufficient detail to ensure accurate safe and practical results.
- Supports other individuals and user groups by providing information on or copies of plant equipment specifications and drawings as required.
5. Quality Control/Inspections
- Is responsible for becoming familiar with the plant standards, Quality Control Program and Procedures, and inspection requirements.
- Ensures that quality control and inspection procedures are followed when work is planned.
- Ensures that all new and repair specifications and plans include the appropriate quality control procedures and information. This should ensure that work done, and results achieved, comply with codes and the Quality Control Program.
6. Maintenance Support
- Provides maintenance support as assigned, by supporting or providing supervisory tasks during outages and turnarounds. This may include assignments to coordinate specific jobs or entire shift periods depending on requirements and opportunities.
7. Budget and Cost Control - Record Keeping
- Is responsible for the accurate preparation of documents to purchase items within the scope of work assignments.
8. Personal and Organizational Development
- Each employee has the responsibility to grow in his position to meet the present and future needs of the organization. This involves personal initiative to learn new skills and to develop competence with existing and future systems and procedures.
- The organization depends on the initiative of each member for improvement suggestions. Each employee is responsible to work within the organizational framework to make needed improvements.
Internal Controls:
- Establishes and implements processes and procedures to meet departmental internal controls requirements. Ensures that established processes/procedures are followed as designed. Works with Internal Controls Department to identify deficiencies in existing processes/procedures, the need for new ones, and the extent to which such processes/procedures are being followed. Develops and implements corrective actions regarding department internal controls as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or related technology field from an accredited college is preferred or a minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial plant planning or engineering planning.
Exposure to a computerized maintenance management system.
Previous experience planning and familiar with rotating equipment, electrical, instrumentation, and fixed equipment.
Solid communication skills including the ability to effectively converse in English, compose written documents and interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
Familiar with applicable codes, regulations and standards.
Strong leadership skills and competencies with the potential for future upward progression.
