POSITION SUMMARY
A National Plaintiff’s Litigation Firm, based in Northern New Jersey, is growing their litigation team. As the Managing Litigation Paralegal you will supervise the litigation paralegal team and aids the litigation attorneys with cases. This role entails a variety of administrative duties and casework.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the overall supervision of the litigation paralegals and for overseeing their work assignments, work allocation, and workflow.
• Coordinates with attorneys to identify and address staffing needs and to prioritize assignments and caseload.
• Provides training, guidance, and mentoring to paralegals as needed.
• Regularly meets with and provides feedback to the litigation paralegal team and participates in the Firm’s
• Blue-Books and cite-checks drafts of memoranda and briefs, and proofreads and finalizes documents.
• Handles electronic filing of court papers, including complaints, briefs, memoranda, and declarations/affidavits.
• Works with external services (such as PacerPro, NetDocs, Box, and ECFx), downloading and storing documents and files using established naming conventions. Maintains document databases and updates files.
• Supports pretrial and trial preparation efforts, including creating witness binders and trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, and maintaining case/trial calendars and deadlines.
• Drafts routine correspondence and legal documents (e.g., proofs of service, federal complaint civil cover sheets, subpoenas, notices/entries of appearance, and pro hac vice admission papers).

QUALIFICATIONS & PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree & Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-certified program preferred.
• 8-10 years of litigation experience, preferably in complex, mass tort, or class action litigation.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
• Proficiency in E-filing, especially with the federal PACER/ECF system.
• Proficiency in Westlaw or Lexis, both for handling cite-checking and for locating cases.
• Proficiency in document management platforms, such as Relativity, with ability to learn new softwares.
• Courtroom/trial experience preferred.
