What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consumer Loan Processor I position at CFCU Community Credit Union?
CFCU Community Credit Union (CFCU) is in search of a Consumer Loan Processor who works directly with members and member facing employees within the Credit Union to develop and maintain a positive relationship and loan experience by providing prompt, efficient and accurate support from the application stage through the funding of consumer loan products. This dynamic role supports the initiative to create loyal Credit Union members by helping them reach their financial goals through identifying lending solutions, taking loan applications and facilitate the finalizing process while contributing to the achievement of established organizational goals and objectives.
Requirements:& Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a strong, collaborative, and support-focused relationship with members and employees By handling inbound and outbound loan related communications by phone, email, and web messages to provide education on all consumer loan products, evaluate their needs and recommend loan options
- Support members, branches and other Consumer Lending staff by taking loan applications; collection, preparation and verification of documents and information needed to complete loan applications and facilitating the accurate disbursement of loan proceeds, as outlined by the loan approval, to members in person and electronically
- Obtain and verify the required documentation to properly record the Credit Union’s lien on collateralized loans
- Identify opportunities based on research and conversations with members to determine and recommend additional products and services that would benefit the member including but not limited to; loan/deposit products, Mechanical Repair Coverage, GAP insurance, Debt Protection, and Insurance Services
- Participate in sales development activities
- Promptly and accurately complete any post funding maintenance such as setting up automatic payments, processing internal loan payoffs, printing/mailing external payoff letters and checks as required
- Ensure archival of loan documents and any additional supplemental documents provided by the member after loan disbursal and completed loan file is in accordance with the Consumer Lending Policy, internal procedures, and Regulations
- Complete and maintain Financial Counseling Certification in addition to maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the Credit Union’s loan products and services. Understand and comply with applicable banking regulations and internal policies and procedures
- Participate in Community Events throughout the year as a representative of CFCU
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
- One year to three years of Consumer Lending or related experience.
- A high school education or GED.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral. The ability to provide clear and professional communication to credit union members and other departments’ staff.
- Ability to support/serve multiple stakeholders in a highly collaborative environment while working independently at times.
- Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Must be self-motivated with willingness to learn.
Must possess good problem solving and analytical skills.- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook.
