CFCU Community Credit Union (CFCU) is in search of a professional Mortgage Loan Sales Associate, reporting directly to the Vice President of Mortgage Operations. This individual will contribute to supporting and executing mortgage lending activities related to the strategic initiatives of CFCU. The ideal candidate will be skilled at building and strengthening realtor relationships, meeting borrowers’ needs through active promotion, sales, and delivery of CFCU’s products and services. Upon hire, the Mortgage Loan Sales Associate will be given responsibility for evaluating a loan applicant’s eligibility for a mortgage approval. In addition, this individual will be actively involved in supporting and enriching our community through community involvement efforts.
Requirements
& Responsibilities:
- Generates mortgage loan business by contacting real estate brokers and other referral sources and meeting with prospective borrowers.
- Assists mortgage applicants with completing mortgage loan applications. Promotes and is familiar with other products and services offered by the credit union.
- Gather all initial loan application documentation from the applicant that is required for a loan to be processed.
- Maintain a high level of understanding of loan products and features to promote appropriate products to clients.
- Interviews and advises loan applicants of eligibility requirements including membership eligibility, types of mortgage loans, interest rates and closing costs.
- Stay abreast of policy, regulatory laws, changes, and industry trends in mortgage lending.
- Support budgetary sales and loan growth goals as set by the Vice President of Mortgage Operations.
- Represent and promote CFCU at external functions and events.
- To effectively meet applicant’s needs and answer their questions.
- Conduct frequent sales calls to realtor’s offices and other referral sources.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Sales experience required.
- Experience with first and second mortgage residential real estate lending is a plus.
- A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
- Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, soliciting cooperation, and working in a team setting.
- Sales skills are a critical prerequisite for this position. Must have the ability to sell self, credit union, mortgage products and other credit union products and services.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Must be able to type, use PC and have knowledge of how to use a mortgage calculator.
