CFD Research is looking for a Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Analyst who will perform GNC analysis and simulation development to support the Artemis missions, helping ensure the spacecraft's ability to navigate, control, and maneuver safely in space. Working on the Orion Program means contributing to NASA's historic missions, including returning astronauts to the Moon and advancing human space exploration to Mars.
What you'll be doing:
- Perform GNC analysis to evaluate the performance of guidance, navigation, and control algorithms.
- Develop and enhance MATLAB models and scripts for analyzing spacecraft dynamics and control systems.
- Utilize Simulink to support system simulations and model-based design efforts.
- Analyze vehicle stability, trajectory, and attitude control performance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support GNC system verification and validation.
- Provide technical insight and recommendations to improve system performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Various levels of experience will be considered.
- Experience with MATLAB for GNC analysis and simulation development.
- Familiarity with Simulink for modeling and simulation.
- Hands-on experience with GNC analysis, including flight dynamics, control systems, or navigation algorithms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate technical concepts effectively.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with controls engineering, including control law design and stability analysis.
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles, including requirements development and verification.
- Experience working with aerospace systems, particularly spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control.

Location: Some remote work allowed with part of work performed on site at Houston, TX or Denver CO.
