CFD Research is looking to fill our intern class for the Summer of 2025. Interns in this program will be supporting a project focused on hypersonic modeling simulation with opportunities to support on tasks ranging from : executing engineering level aerothermal response codes for high speed flight trajectories, conducting high fidelity external flow CFD simulations, conducting thermo-structural response FEA simulations, and generating AI / ML based surrogate models. US Citizenship and non-dual citizenship required. The program runs 8-10 weeks over the summer and has flexible start and finish dates based on candidate's availability (typically mid-May to August).
Each CFD Research Internship has both a mentor and technical manager to help guide them on their research project over the summer. In addition to challenging technical work, CFD Research's program offers professional development and social activities designed to help our interns have a great, all-around summer internship experience.
Basic Qualifications :
Typical Degrees hired will include :
- Pursuing Mechanical Engineering (Graduate and Undergraduate)
- Pursuing Aerospace Engineering (Graduate and Undergraduate)
- Pursuing Other similar STEM Disciplines
Location : This role is based in the Huntsville, AL area, and is 100% onsite.
