SUMMARY
The Site Mental Health Director will be responsible for overseeing the provision of mental health services to inmate patients of the assigned facility consistent with current CFG clinical guidelines and community standards of care. He/ She provides the overall supervision for clinical services at the assigned site while managing and evaluating the mental health program activities based on the company goals, objectives, and philosophy according to industry standards and contractual obligations. The Site Medical Director will also function as a liaison between correctional officials, public agencies, the Health Services Administrator, and CFG Health Systems, LLC to ensure effective inmate patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes, while maintaining the established guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Performs and documents routine mental health intakes, assessments, and evaluations on inmate patients referred by the nursing/professional staff of the assigned correctional facility consistent with the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards of care, American Psychological Association (APA), NJ 10-A, American Correctional Association (ACA) and Performance Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS) as appropriate.
- Supervises the Mental Health staff in facilitating mental health care in the assigned facility.
- Supports and provides direction for the psychiatric and behavioral health care delivery system and coordinates with the other functions within the institution.
- Administers treatments, prescribes, and monitors psychotropic medications and other treatments to treat illnesses and health problems as allowed by state regulations and under the guidelines of the approved CFG formulary.
- Meets regularly with the site mental health and medical staff for mental health issues as requested.
- Contributes to behavioral health program development, policies, and evaluation.
- Promotes a therapeutic environment to ensure inmate patients are treated in a professional, ethical and tactful manner.
- Provide direct mental health services as needed.
- Participates in the interviewing, hiring, and orientation of all mental health staff for the assigned facility.
- Supervises clinical service treatments, medications, and other treatments to treat illnesses and health problems as allowed by state regulations and under the guidelines of the approved CFG formulary.

- Strong knowledge of general medicine and psychotherapy, current developments in the field of psychology, hospital and clinic organization, management, and procedures.
- Capable of preparing written reports and able to handle legal depositions and court hearings.
- Maintains an active Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
- Must have an unrestricted and valid prescriptive authority with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Completion from an accredited medical school facility with a degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.), Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Completion of a US-based residency program in a mental health facility.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state the facility is located (maintain a current copy of the license on file at the facility at all times).
- Experience with mental health delivery systems.
- Previous professional experience in the mental field indicates knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders and psychological evaluation techniques, including psychological assessment instruments.

- Attends all CFG Health Systems-related staff meetings.
- Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.
- Completes required orientation and training directed by the facility.
- Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment.
- Follows facility and CFG Health Systems Occurrence Protocol.
- Adheres to PREA regulations.
- Maintains security clearance for the assigned facility.
FUNCTIONAL DEMANDS
- Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Provides 24-hour on-call mental health coverage to advise mental health providers in situations requiring immediate crisis intervention.
