CFI is looking to have a Copywrite/Content Creator/Proofreader join our growing team in Jacksonville, FL. The purpose of this highly collaborative position is to work with marketers to help generate sales leads and improve the quality of website content and product descriptions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for writing both compelling blog posts, marketing copy and proofreading all promotional and advertising materials while checking for consistency, grammar, spelling and style.
Essential functions of the Role:
- Create compelling content for print, web, product packaging, advertising, landing pages and marketing materials/campaigns
- Produce well-written content that is SEO friendly and optimized for conversion
- Write high-quality product descriptions and provide supporting content
- Proofread flyers and catalog pages for consistency, grammar, spelling and style in a deadline-oriented atmosphere with changing priorities Define key messages and brand voice for external communications to ensure consistent messaging across the company.
- Fact-check content as needed using research skills and document/communicate findings
- Provide balance of technical components with common sense approach to product offerings. Suggest alternatives to grammatically awkward or incorrect language
- Collaborate with designers and creative teams
- Brainstorm and manage projects and juggle multiple deliverables
- Recommends actions and solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity within the department
- Collaborating with internal departments to establish campaign objectives, complete tasks, and identify and solve problems.
What you bring to CFI:
- Associates Degree in Journalism or English, Bachelor’s preferred
- Creative copywriting experience
- Proficient with short form and long form writing
- Proofreading or copy editing experience
- Project management experience
- Must utilize standard copy editing marks in addition to having easy-to-read handwriting
- Knowledge and understanding of the Chicago Manual of Style method of document formatting and citation
- Experience in foodservice industry a plus
- Excellent communication, organizational and grammar skills
- Advanced reading and writing skills
- Flexible and capable of prioritizing projects, meeting deadlines, and working well under pressure
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Strong research and fact-checking skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work overtime hours as needed to meet deadlines
