JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Agricultural Service Technician

SUMMARY: Installs and repairs tires, wheels and tracks in designated locations in a safe and courteous manner and in accordance with established standards and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspection and diagnosis of tires, wheels and tracks.
  • De-mount and mount or repair tires on construction, agricultural and mining equipment.
  • Replace valve stems or inner-tubes.
  • Bolt on or unbolt tire/wheel assemblies. Replace studs/bolts/nuts if needed.
  • Operate service truck, crane, tire manipulator, tire de-mount/remount machine, jacks, and air/hydraulic tools safely.
  • Drive safely to and from job sites.
  • Communicate directly with the service manager, company sales reps and customers.
  • Perform maintenance or cleaning on tools, equipment and service truck.
  • Wear the necessary PPE on job sites.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Installs tires, wheels and tracks on-site in accordance with established standards and procedures; always maintains safety and professionalism.
  • Assists in the promotion and sale of extra products and services.
  • Ensures the products installed are in proper working order prior to departure from installation site.
  • Provides a thorough explanation of the products installed, its capabilities and operation to the customer; responds to all questions in a courteous and knowledgeable manner.
  • Accurately completes all necessary paperwork including but not limited to work orders, service orders, time logs, safety sheets and emergency information schedules.
  • Maintains inventory control of assigned equipment to ensure adequate stock levels; participates in the inventory process on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Maintains control of all assigned company property and ensures that equipment is always maintained in safe operating condition.
  • Safely operates assigned company vehicle and ensures that it is maintained according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Exhibits appearance and conduct in accordance with established company standards to present a professional image to customers and the general public; maintains the highest degree of decency, honesty, and integrity as a guest in a customers’ home and/or business.
  • When on call, always ensures availability by telephone for service calls.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Assist technicians in the main shop when needed.
  • Assist technicians with loading of the scrap tire trailer.
  • Assist technicians with cleaning/maintenance around the main shop.
  • Change oil/filters, grease, or perform basic repair on shop equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn/expand skillset
  • Good hand to eye coordination
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Class B CDL preferred
  • Previous tire technician and/or TIA certifications and training is preferred but not required.
