GENERAL SUMMARY
The person in this position is responsible for transporting heating & air conditioning and solar products and delivering the product to our customers and satellite company branches. Also, the individual will work in the warehouse shipping, receiving, assisting with customer will call and general warehouse duties, when not performing driving duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Drive 26 bobtail to and from designated destinations to deliver product; maneuver truck into loading or unloading position. Load and unload product using forklift or liftgate.
2. Adhere to Driver Safety Rules at all times
3. Check all related documentation to ensure product is correct, verify customer delivery address to create route
4. Obtain signatures for delivered product and collect payment if required
5. Conduct and maintain daily vehicle inspection reports
6. Report accidents and damage to company vehicle, product or customer property immediately
7. Perform warehouse duties including loading, unloading product, assist customers with order pickup
8. Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations for the safe operations of a commercial motor vehicle.
9. Makes sure that all C.O.D. and credit card sales orders are paid for before the order is unloaded.
10. Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment substance and physical abilities test
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies and procedures to promote safe delivery of product
- Possess a valid Schedule C drivers license and knowledge of motor vehicle driver and safety laws
- Ability to identify potential safety risks
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of the English language and the ability to actively listen, understand and communicate oral and written instructions
- Friendly customer service skills

- Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and the Microsoft Office Suite of products. Knowledge of basic office equipment should include: Internet and email, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

A current CA drivers license and motor vehicle report.

Working Conditions: Drivers may spend 50% of time out of doors exposed to potentially difficult environmental conditions. Temperature, weather and outside environment extremes, tight delivery schedules, delays in route and other stresses and fatigues related to driving a large commercial motor vehicle on crowded streets and highways in all kinds of weather. Drivers typically spend 25-40% of duty time in the truck. While driving, operators are exposed to noise and vibration levels which may be higher than those typically experienced in passenger cars.
