CFO Hub is looking for a Full-time Chief Financial Officer for a client , this position is not with CFO Hub.
A well-established large-scale fabrication and machining solutions company is looking for a CFO to join their growing team!
Our client manufactures large-scale, metal fabricated and machined precision components and equipment used predominantly in defense, aerospace, spaceflight, and precision industrial markets. Our subsidiaries work with clients to provide products in accordance with customers’ drawings and specifications. The work performed complies with specific national and international codes and standards.
The CEO expects to hire a hands-on leader who is comfortable and excels as a “working manager”.
Responsibilities :
Responsible for the financial health of the organization; work proactively to ensure the organization is financially successful.
Improve and standardize processes in all areas of finance. Eliminate weaknesses and turn them into strengths. Verify and catch mistakes before going past deadlines.
Evaluate and keep apprised of corporate structures, financing, legal, risk management, tax, real estate, and compliance regulations. Understand how to translate financial options to the CEO’s leadership team and recommend business tactical direction to mitigate risk and increase profitability.
Function as a working member of the management team and as an advisor to management on financial matters.
Build strong relationships with the CEO, the Controller, the management team, and employees.
Develop and execute the finance and accounting tactical plan. Communicates goals and methods to get there.
Oversees financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and to mitigate risk while increasing value.
Leading SEC reporting function and owning the preparation and filing of SEC documents.
Provide oversight of POC (Percent of Completion), US GAAP, external audits, and monthly / quarterly / year end closing for each subsidiary and the parent. Together with the Controller, develop, improve, and monitor processes to verify and catch problems before task completion.
Work with the CEO and Controller to maintain the financial forecasting process to include timeline development, communications, and on-going monitoring procedures / controls.
Implement and refine key performance metrics to assess and communicate real-time performance trends.
Prepare a monthly dashboard and review of company financial statements.
Control staffing and budget management to remove performance barriers and maximize available resources.
Works to develop appropriate succession and cross training plans.
Maximize staff performance and technical expertise through clear tactical goals, training, and skill development.
Hands-on management with the CEO and Controller : all external communications, presentation materials, including earnings releases and investor presentations.
Work directly with Investor Relations and the Audit Committee.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field. MBA and / or CPA preferred.
Minimum of 15 – 20 years of accounting experience in progressive roles with 5 years of leadership experience. Background that includes working in a publicly traded defense or aerospace job shop environment.
In-depth knowledge of SEC Reporting, Percentage of Completion Method, and US GAAP.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to think strategically and influence business decisions using appropriate, fact-based financial information.
Background using technology and business intelligence tools to improve access to information needed to run the business. Experience implementing and working on a daily basis with an ERP system.
Develop and deliver timely financial metrics for the CEO to use in running the business.
Strong leadership skills; inspires confidence and trust.
