What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Center, Forklift Operator | 2nd Shift position at CFS Brands LLC?
Your Role
As a Forklift operator you will play an essential role as part of our warehouse ensuring the timely and accurate movement of items throughout the distribution center. Responsible for maneuvering heavy loads and guiding them into place. To do this job well, you need to be highly skilled and have an excellent understanding of how to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Safety. Always follow safety procedures for forklift reach truck operations and safely operate the forklift to properly locate and load/unload pallets.
- Support Inventory Process. Includes ensuring inventory location accuracy, and accurate replenishment of inventory performed with a quality and improvement mindset and receive and sort inventory
- Communicate opportunities. To improve inventory (such as correct labeling) and give feedback to the supervisor.
- Orders fulfillment. Prepare customer orders for delivery.
- Computer system. Use technology including scanners, computers, and or tablets.
- Warehouse cleaning. Ensure the warehouse is clean, in order, and aisles are safe.
- Forklift Maintenance. Ensure forklift maintenance checklist is adhered to, and that the forklift is placed to charge at the end of the shift.
Qualifications
- Maintain up to date forklift operator’s certification.
- Ability to successfully pass re-certification as per policy.
- Your safety is #1. Follow safety standards for lifting, bending, pushing and pulling.
- Positive attitude toward being cross-trained.
- Values customer satisfaction and cares about keeping products intact and avoiding damage.
- Follow all guidelines, including shipping and other SOPs.
- Use of scanner, tables and basic computer skills.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with exposure to heat, cold, and noise
- Able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills to ensure healthy partnerships with other team members and leaders.
