What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sp II, EHS position at CFS Brands LLC?
Oversees safety systems and policies to protect employees and our communities. Drives a behavior-based safety culture, identifies risks, designs, develops, implements, and supervises programs related to environmental, health, security, and safety, assuring regulations compliance.
Essential Functions | Accountabilities | Performance Measures
- Plan and implement EHS policies and procedures in compliance with corporate, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Plan, implement and train EHS policies and procedures for employees.
- Organize, lead, and participate in Safety Committee meetings, events, and initiatives.
- Ensure Compliance to required local, state, and federal data reporting.
- Inspect organization facilities to detect existing or potential accidents, health, and environmental hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Provide information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety/environmental hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
- Lead the team for investigation of near misses and all incidents and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence collection for organizational use in development of corrective and preventative actions, additional investigations including worker’s compensation as well as for any potential legal requirements.
- Compile and submit incident reports.
- Collaboration with HR of worker’s compensation program, including working with the local medical provider and insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time.
- Prepare and arrange safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions.
- Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs,
- Maintain EHS files and records.
Communication & Influence: Communicates with contacts typically within the immediate work unit on matters that typically involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation.
Problem Solving & Complexity: Problems and issues faced are routine and solutions clearly prescribed. Follows a well-established and familiar set of activities and/or process to derive a solution. May have responsibility for checking data and information for minor changes.

Certificates | Licenses | Registrations: Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Safety/Occupational Safety or other relevant discipline, or 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Travel Required: Less than 10%.
Work Environment: Manufacturing
Physical Demands:
- Wear safety attire and protective gear daily.
- Usually work indoors. This site may not be temperature controlled.
- Often exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
