Key Responsibilities
Distribution Center Associates will be cross trained in the below areas to perform work as needed:
Picking/Packing
- Pick, inspect, and pack products according to the assigned order.
- Maintain momentum to ensure full efficiency and timely shipping of products.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the need for partnership with other teams to ensure accurate slotting of products, keeping picking areas clean and organized, and other aspects that support productivity.
- Cross training in other areas is a requirement of the position.
- Have a continuous improvement mindset.
- Operate an electric pallet jack.
- Secure all pallets for transport. This can include shrink-wrapping and wrapping with belts.
- Load and unload pallets using electric pallet jacks.
- Coordinate drivers for order pick-up and ensure the accuracy of pallets.
- Unload containers (hand unload).
- Continuous lifting.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs repetitively.
- Ensure accurate sorting of items to correct pallets.
- Accurately manage the inventory.
- Your safety is #1. Follow safety standards for lifting, bending, pushing and pulling.
- Positive attitude toward being cross-trained.
- Values customer satisfaction and cares about keeping products intact and avoids damage.
- Follow all guidelines, including shipping and other SOPs.
- Use basic mathematical abilities to ensure accuracy.
- Use of scanner and basic computer skills.
- Operate a flatbed and/or pallet jack.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a distribution center environment with exposure to heat, cold, and noise.
- Able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills to ensure healthy partnerships with other team members and leaders.
