Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers.
- Collect patient information and verify insurance details, including Medicare coverage.
- Handle medical billing and coding tasks accurately, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Maintain organized patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing calls to the appropriate staff members.
- Assist with clerical duties including filing, data entry, and maintaining a clean reception area.
- Collaborate with dental office staff as needed to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist is preferred.
- Proficient typing skills with attention to detail in data entry tasks.
- Knowledge of Medicare policies and procedures is a plus.
- Strong clerical skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and staff.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a healthcare setting.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
