Summary
The navigator assists patients with necessary appointments and serves as liaison between patients and physicians as necessary. The navigator oversees all aspects, processes, and planning for the OB/GYN Clinic; promotes patient-centered care philosophy in all activities. The coordinator works under the guidance and oversight of the OB/GYN Clinic Manager.
Education and Formal Training:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. AHA BLS required within 90 days of employment-must remain active thereafter. Child Abuse Recognition classroom training within 6 months of employment.
Work Experience:
Minimum three years medical office experience with training in women health preferred. Previous experience in supervision/managing systems or functions preferred.
Required clinical skills include the ability to assess and monitor the clinical status of patients. Ability to meet the physical and mental requirements in a fast-paced clinical setting to include verbal communications with patient, families, staff, and physicians. Demonstrates understanding of HIPAA, corporate compliance, state, and federal regulations, CFVHS policies and procedures and related financial considerations/resources. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to work well with others in a multidisciplinary environment. Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
