Description
The Assembly Lead leads and coordinates the work of employees who work on all Assembly lines. This position prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Performs repetitive assembly line operations, when needed.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible to lead the Assembly department(s) to meet department and company’s goals towards Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale.
- Leader for carrying out continuous improvement activities to achieve targets for press department’s KPIs.
- Ensure excellent performance in assembly-type functions to produce cabinets, and/or countertops, using hand or power tools, in order to meet daily production objectives.
- Good knowledge of assembly equipment operations and the ability to guide the team on problem solving.
- Perform a wide array of carpenter related skills and tasks throughout the production cycle.
- Operate a variety of different equipment, including saws and hand tools, needed to perform the job.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Production Manger or Plant Manager.
- Complete daily production goals as directed by Production Supervisor.
- Promote positive culture and one team mindset between production, engineering, quality, and maintenance.
- Required to follow all company Safety Rules and Procedures. (including but not limited to PPE)
- Required to maintain consistent and acceptable attendance according to the assigned schedule provided by the manager as well as the Team Member Handbook.
- Meet departmental goals and defined key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school Diploma/GED preferred. Less than high school education may be accepted.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Hand or power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs required.
- Previous knowledge of Manufacturing principle and equipment.
- Experience with production planning and man power allocation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and complete a wide variety of carpentry tasks.
- Intermediate level in MS-office. Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
- Ability to work mandatory overtime and weekends required.
- Must have reliable method of transportation to/from the facility.

- Ability to assist in a team lift in excess of 80 lbs of raw and finished materials.
- Ability to pull or push the Q-System non driven trolleys to transport pre- cut and finished materials throughout the facility.
- Possesses the ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to work collaboratively and well with teammates.
