Description
MAIN OBJECTIVE
Responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for millwork projects by evaluating architectural drawings, specifications, materials, and labor requirements. This role supports business growth by ensuring competitive and comprehensive bids that align with CFX Products’ operational capabilities, profitability goals, and production timelines.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate bid opportunities by reviewing project specifications, drawings, and scope to determine feasibility and alignment with CFX capabilities.
- Perform detailed takeoffs of millwork, casework, and related subcontracted scopes (e.g., metalwork, solid surface, upholstery) using software such as Bluebeam and Innergy.
- Prepare accurate pricing estimates that include material costs, fabrication, finishing, and installation labor, overhead, and profit margins.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Project Management teams to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with execution capabilities.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings to ensure a smooth handoff of awarded projects and provide clarity on estimated scope and assumptions.
- Communicate with clients and vendors to gather pricing, clarify scope, and build lasting business relationships.
- Continuously assess and improve estimating processes, tools, and documentation, contributing ideas with a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Required to follow all company Safety Rules and Procedures. (including but not limited to PPE)
- Required to maintain consistent and acceptable attendance according to the assigned schedule provided by the manager as well as the Team Member Handbook.
- Meet departmental goals and defined key performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in commercial custom millwork
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and architectural specifications
- Understanding of casework manufacturing and AWI standards
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines.
- Experience with estimating software (Innergy, Bid Board, ProCore)
- Background in materials such as wood, veneer, solid surface, phenolic, etc
