Job Description:
The Recovery and Reentry Housing Coordinator is a key member of the Pinal Community Reentry Project’s Peer Support Team at Casa Grande Alliance. This position supports justice-involved and substance-impacted individuals as they reenter the community, connecting them with peer-based support, housing assistance, and recovery-focused services. The Coordinator provides video visits and assessments with incarcerated individuals and supports participants after release with tasks such as securing ID, housing, employment, and meeting other essential needs. The Housing Coordinator’s primary responsibility will be to assist participants with finding and paying for emergency, transitional, and recovery housing using internal grant funds, maintaining supportive contact with those served, completing intake and follow-up assessments, and documenting all interactions and expenditures. This position is grant-funded and temporary, though other opportunities within the organization may be possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct video visits with incarcerated individuals and complete intake assessments and reentry support plans.
- Provide peer recovery support and strength-based guidance to justice-involved individuals in early recovery.
- Assist participants with obtaining ID, birth certificates, AHCCCS enrollment, clothing, hygiene items, health care, food, and other basic needs.
- Support job readiness activities including resume creation, job search, interview prep, and employment follow-up.
- Help participants meet court-ordered obligations and access substance use treatment, classes, and support groups.
- Assist with housing navigation and referrals, including Oxford House, sober living, or emergency hotel stays.
- Coordinate transportation support for appointments, work, treatment, or housing.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of services provided and participant progress.
- Collaborate with probation/parole officers, housing providers, behavioral health partners, and community-based service providers.
- Serve as a positive role model of recovery and reintegration while maintaining professional boundaries.
Qualifications:
- Lived experience with substance use recovery (at least 1 year of sustained recovery) and/or justice involvement.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy, including use of Microsoft Office and digital tools.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
- Must apply for an Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card within 7 days of hire (CGA pays cost). If denied, must immediately begin and actively pursue the Good Cause Exception process.
- Must be actively engaged in a program of recovery, demonstrate integrity, and maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Skills and Abilities (Preferred):
- Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) through an AHCCCS-recognized training provider (training may be provided for the right candidate).
- Experience in peer support, case management, or reentry services.
- Familiarity with Oxford House and sober living housing systems.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English).
