What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Commission Analyst position at CGA?
Primary responsibilities include conducting racial and ethnic disparate impact analyses on certain bills and issuing racial and ethnic impact statements on those bills. The analyst will also staff Commission activities, conduct data and policy analysis, and prepare written and verbal responses to inquiries from legislators, and caucus staff, stakeholders, and partners.
Requires superior writing, research, and analytical skills; abilityto navigate and analyze population level data including but not limited to Census Bureau and American Communities Survey, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention databases, and State Agency databases; nonpartisanship; sound judgment; attention to detail; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work under pressure and be willing to work extensive overtime during legislative sessions.
Graduate degree in sociology, economics, demography, or a related field required; PhD preferred. 4 years of relevant experience required. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
