The L&D Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing training programs for corporate. Reporting to the Destination L&D Supervisor, this role collaborates with stakeholders to prepare relevant training materials and supports effective implementation. They coordinate related logistics, support in conducting train-the-trainer sessions, and help evaluate program effectiveness to drive continuous improvement. They will also help monitor destination compliance training activities and draw accurate reports as needed.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Create engaging and informative training materials, including presentations, manuals, guides, and eLearning content, to support destination training programs. They will ensure that materials are kept updated, consistent and relevant. They will create and maintain knowledge articles, including guidelines using SharePoint to ensure curation and consistent content delivery.
  • Offer support and guidance during the implementation of training programs, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise and ensuring that training objectives are met. Support new and existing training activities on-site and off-site, including coordination with respective teams for scheduling, venue bookings, trainer coordination, procuring and securing materials, to ensure smooth and timely implementation of the program. Support any post-training activity, as needed.
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately with all stakeholders, internal and external. They will collaborate across L&D COE, and Destination teams in the design and implementation of training initiatives. They will participate in and/or facilitate meetings, presentations and follow through with any post activity in a timely manner. They will correspond promptly and professionally to email and use company approved messaging services appropriately. They will provide accurate information and clearly communicate process changes and updates to relevant parties in a timely manner. They will gather and share feedback and build strong collaborative relationships.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of destination-specific training initiatives by gathering feedback and data to inform future improvements and adjustments. Monitor training compliance and draw accurate reports using designated systems. Draft and maintain guidelines and procedures to monitor training activities in the knowledge base.

Qualifications & Education: 

  • Bachelor’s in hospitality, Business, Education, Communication preferred
  • At least 12 months of experience in a medium-large corporate setting with cross functional collaboration being a key function. Some experience in developing and delivering training programs, preferably in the hospitality or cruise industry. Proficiency in Office 365 for Business with SharePoint required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Learning and Development or similar roles, with a focus on training development and implementation. Preferred certifications in Learning and Development, Organizational Development, or related fields. Proficient in utilizing learning management systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and other digital tools for effective training delivery and program management.
  • Working understanding of learning and development principles, strategies, and best practices to enhance employee skills and organizational effectiveness. Some knowledge of corporate environments, including project management, stakeholder engagement, and functional oversight. Proficient in facilitating effective collaboration with remote team members, leveraging digital tools and communication platforms. Comprehensive understanding of trend analysis methodologies to stay aware of industry developments and integrate relevant trends into learning initiatives. Adept at managing diverse projects, demonstrating strong organizational and time-management skills to achieve project goals efficiently. Skillful in designing and implementing impactful learning and development initiatives tailored to organizational objectives and employee growth.

 

The pay for this position is $53 an hour.
