Staff Accountant (Big 4 Experience Required)

Reports To: Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager
Position Overview:
As a Staff Accountant you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your experience in a Big 4 environment will be valuable in providing best-in-class financial reporting, analysis, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, and internal reporting.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including sales tax, VAT, and income tax filings.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and timely resolution of audit queries.
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and controls, drawing on best practices from Big 4 experience.
- Assist in the analysis of financial data to provide insights for management and assist in strategic decision-making.
- Participate in various accounting and finance-related projects as needed, including system upgrades and implementation of new accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role, Big 4 accounting firm experience required.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and propose actionable insights.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to adapt to changing financial regulations and business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA certification or pursuing CPA.
- Experience with audit or tax preparation in a public accounting setting (Big 4 preferred).
- Exposure to financial reporting in a multinational or publicly traded company.
