What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Supervisor position at CGC Group Inc.?
We are seeking a bilingual English/Spanish Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in Miami, located near the airport. The primary shift for this role is the 2nd shift. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a produce warehouse environment.
The Warehouse Supervisor assists the Operations Manager with daily overall warehouse activities. The Warehouse Supervisor oversees all the incoming and outgoing products of the warehouse, oversees inventory and the efficiency of warehouse employees. To ensure success, the Warehouse Supervisor needs to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is not hesitant to work side by side his employees with any task, including packing, forklift, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Operational Warehouse Management
- Oversees receiving and stowing, picking and packing, shipping, inventory management, and documentation.
- Monitors and evaluates temporary staff performance and shift goals against broader business objectives.
- Ensures the safety and security of goods and materials.
- Utilizes a warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource system (ERP), or other system to track and analyze processes and performance.
- Implements strong safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinates with Shipping and Receiving Coordinator carriers estimate time of arrivals to the warehouse to plan orders processing.
- Performs Quality Control (QC) inspections to inbound containers and local purchases immediately upon their arrival at the warehouse. Lots for all inbounds will be generated in Famous software prior to their arrival. All written inspections along with pictures should be given to the Operations Team for distribution immediately.
- Coordinates and performs physical inventory by count and confirms/notifies any discrepancies to the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator and Sales Support Department.
- Ensures all lots are properly labeled and stacked properly on pallets before storing them accordingly.
- When needed, efficiently drive pallets of product into delivery trucks with forklift, assisting the operations manager with any urgent needs that may present themselves.
- Notify Purchasing and Sales Departments of any product-related issues reported by the quality control company used.
- Maintain daily communication with the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator and Sales department regarding which lots would be chosen for specific order picking, based on lots’ conditions as well as customers’ needs.
- Coordinate and perform that each outbound order is to be properly stacked, labeled, including a pallet count as well as our order number.
- Review timeliness of scheduled deliveries.
- Track inventory levels.
- Ensure that all daily warehouse activities are done in a timely manner and efficiently.
- Constantly work to improve processes.
- Answer questions generated by QC Supervisor regarding Quality of Products and Repacking.
- Oversee the correct handling and accuracy of materials and product inventory.
- Make suggestions for productivity improvements.
- Optimize employee workflow. Organize the warehouse staff schedule in advance to expedite the shipping process to ensure accuracy and timeliness for all orders.
- Maintain daily coordination of shipping schedule of orders with Shipping and Receiving Coordinator as well as sales team.
II. Warehouse Management
- Report to the Manager of Operations and Human Resources any situation that may arise with warehouse personnel.
- Oversee functionality of all warehouse services.
- Ensure all documentation from the different processes in the warehouse is given in a timely manner to the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator for filing.
- Maintain optimal warehouse operational standards; implement performance requirements for warehouse staff, drive productivity, quality, and customer-service levels; resolve problems, identify warehouse system improvements.
- Keep storage areas organized and manage floor space for best and safe use, maintain warehouse supplies inventory available, recommend improvements.
- Keep equipment operating optimally by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; perform preventive maintenance. Notify Manager of Operations if a mechanic is needed for repairs and oversee mechanic’s visit, inspect repairs and make sure the machine is back to optimal operating standards.
- Secure warehouse by turning alarms on; testing systems, and monitoring security cameras and all activity, including visitors.
- Implement and enforce OSHA regulations in the work environment as well as all preventive maintenance and overall cleanliness of the warehouse.
- Implement and enforce food safety organization procedures by following PRIMUS Regulations.
III. Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations, supply chain, industrial engineering, food processing or related field.
- Bilingual English/ Spanish required.
- 5 years’ experience in warehouse management operations.
- Prior experience in the produce industry required. Knowledge of food safety a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong leadership and management skills.

- Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm including working side by side with packers and forklift drivers.

- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-directed requiring minimal supervision and hands-on approach.
- Collaboration - high level of initiative and proven team player.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Forklift Certified.
The salary range for this role is $55,000-$65,000 DOE plus monthly performance bonus. Benefits offered after probationary.
