CGH has an exciting opportunity for a Writer / Editor to join the CGH Team.
Purpose :
The Senior Writer-Editor specializing in air traffic publications is responsible for creating, maintaining, and publishing technical documentation related to air traffic publications such as orders, manuals, and publications. This role requires expertise in XML-based authoring (preferably DITA XML) and familiarity with XML editing and publishing tools. Additionally, the writer will conduct editorial reviews of correspondence while collaborating across teams and needs a familiarity of SharePoint.
The role involves working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) in air traffic control procedures to create, edit, and maintain compliant policy documentation that meets industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities :
- Document Creation & Maintenance : Author and maintain air traffic publications, including orders, directives, manuals, and publications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
- XML Authoring & DITA : Use XML authoring tools (e.g., oXygen XML Author and similar tools) and DITA XML standards to structure content for reusability and maintainability.
- Publishing & Transformation : Publish content using tools like DITA Open Toolkit and content management systems (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager Guides) in formats such as HTML and PDF.
- Collaboration with SMEs : Work with air traffic control policy experts to create, edit, and maintain air traffic publication content.
- Familiarity with SharePoint Management for correspondence review (editorial review).
- Continuous Improvement : Stay current with technical writing trends, regulatory changes, and air traffic publication standards, recommending improvements to documentation processes.
