Data Architect

Position Description :

CGI is looking for a Data Architect with well versed architecture experience. In this role, your central responsibility as a Data Architect will be to develop future state road map to adhere to challenging needs of clients business. You should be actively working with product development team to strategize and execute the data vision.

This position can be located anywhere in the US, but the preferred locations are Fairfax, VA, Lafayette, LA, or Knoxville, TN.

If you are located within 50 miles of a CGI Federal office, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities :

Examine new data system requirements and implement migration models.

Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.

Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming.

Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.

Responsible for designing and building data applications to enable application requirements with the data engineering team.

Educate staff members through training and individual support.

Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role :

Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant field.

At least 8 years of experience in Data Architecture.

Strong knowledge data architecture in application development or reporting.

Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

Outstanding problem solver.

Good written and verbal communication skills

Should be proficient in architectural frameworks like BigQuery or Cloud Spanner

Has experience in working on high visibility high stake engagements.

Hands-on experience in managing data projects, including cloud migration, data pipelines, virtualization, lineage etc.

Experience in building large scale data processing and distributed systems using technologies like Spark

Experience with SQL / NoSQL databases

Experience with Object oriented programming languages like Java / Python

Experience with Kubernetes or similar technologies

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $99,200.00 - $195,200.00.
