The Position

The Real State Acquisition Analyst is one of the key direct reports to the CFO. The Analyst has primary responsibility to lead the Company's financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and forecasting efforts for all operating, capital, and cash activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain the preparation of meaningful financial analyses, presentations and performance templates to aid senior management decisions
  • Effectively communicate with the company’s lenders on all new and existing debt-related matters and on-going reporting
  • Manage and coordinate capital planning activities with the Acquisition, Asset Management and Development departments
  • Direct the preparation of initial asset level business plans, including documentation of strategy and forecast of financial performance
  • Prepare senior management and investors reporting packages, including actual-to-budget and forecast-to-budget variance analysis and cash forecasting
  • Evaluate and screen potential acquisitions for match with the company's investment criteria
  • Gather property specific & market information by researching a variety of sources including, industry, regulatory and economic information, demographic data and property information
  • Identify financial risks and provide mitigation strategy for risks
  • Participate in ad hoc projects

Candidate Qualifications And Experience

Education: Strong academic background with a Bachelor’s degree required. An MBA or other relevant advanced degree is preferred, but not required.

  • Bachelors and/or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, asset management, private equity or investment banking
  • Real Estate industry experience is required; experience working with an Owner/Developer of a multifamily and mixed used projects
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills
  • Energetic, organized, creative and highly motivated person with ability to learn and work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong work ethic and ability to support multiple projects in parallel and prioritize competing demands under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Strength of character and flexible style to work successfully with a range of people, from staff to executives, and from property owners to outside investors. Has the personal presence to deal effectively with these constituencies
  • This person will have a balanced personality with both the ability to manage a large part of the firm’s internal operations, as well as playing an outside role, expanding the company’s relationships for both capital sources as well as in the regional real estate community
  • A true entrepreneurial spirit who has the commitment and wherewithal to collaboratively grow the CGI Strategies platform. This person will bring and implement industry best practices and sophistication to the company
