What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Technician position at CGL?

Education
High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
Experience and Qualifications
- Manage the automotive shop;coordinates repair assignments and establishes work practices
- Assign repair tasks to offender personnel; monitors and report offender time using the appropriate time cards
- Instructs offender workers on job plans and inspects their work throughout projects to ensure efficient use of materials/supplies and the quality/quantity of work being performed
- Train offenders in equipment maintenance and repair.
- Monitors and reports offender time according to established policies and procedures.
- Plans jobs and order materials for timely completion of projects. Complete purchase orders for tools,equipment, suppies, vendor services, etc.
- Ensures purchasing order procedures and regulations are followed.
- Perform preventative maintenancetask and all minor repairs.
- Properly document preventative maintenance work, repairs, and equipment/parts used according to established policies and procedures.
- Provide timely response to client concerning work status and complaints.
- Monitor vehicle and equipment maintenance schedule to plan inspections and repair assignments, diagnose repairs or maintenance requirements.
- Inspect the completion of all work assigmentsto ensure quality workmanship.
- Inspect institutional vehicles to ensure that assigned equipment meets state safety inspection requirements.
- Coordinate annual state vehicle inspections.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
