Quality Manager Job Description
About the Role
The Quality Manager is responsible for promoting and overseeing production compliance to quality procedures through rigorous inspections, implementation of quality control, and management of corrective action and KPI production reporting.
This role requires problem-solving experience and involves tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) including Safety, Quality, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of quality control procedures, relevant legal standards, and excellent math abilities with working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate and guide cross-functional teams to address quality issues and manage corrective action and KPI production reporting.
- Assure compliance of the company quality system and customer requirements by managing quality policies, standards, procedures, programs, and practices while driving continuous improvement.
- Work with customers to coordinate customer audits, external nonconformity, and customer performance improvements.
- Manage and control customer requirements and develop them as company requirements.
- Daily monitoring of production control results and management of eventual nonconformity and reprocess.
- Update the Quality Management System (QMS) with incidents, fixes, and improvements.
- Determine quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures.
- Define and manage corrective actions, guiding multiple teams.
- Propose and track quality assurance goals.
- Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving product quality.
- Verify potential training needs.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality policy, company standards, regulatory, and external standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a quality manager or quality manager assistant.
- In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards.
- Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods.
- Knowledge of Quality tools like FMEA, PPAP, APQP, 8D, 5Why etc.
- BS/BA in chemistry or scientific field preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office.
Experience
2-5 years in a rubber company (compounding, transformation).
