Description :

The Quality Technician / Engineer position reports directly to the Quality Manager. The primary objectives served by the Quality Technician / Engineer is to carry out necessary quality inspections of product from outsourced suppliers and internal production. In addition, this position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Quality plans, receiving inspection, and Mfg. in-process inspection sheets as directed by the Quality Manager. This position is also required to assist with gage calibration as required.

Ø File incoming component device history records.

Ø Creating and organizing all parts of inspection packages (FAIs, C of C’s and other required certificates).

Ø Create inspection control plans and balloon drawings.

Ø Must have knowledge and be proficient with inspection tools such as various types of micrometers, height gages and vernier calipers when inspecting fabricated parts.

Ø Initiate Non-Conformance reports (Non-Conforming Material Rejection notices) as required.

Ø Input and perform trending of key inspection process metrics.

Ø Must be able to perform surface plate inspections. Document and report inspection findings, results and monitor corrective actions to inspection findings for Machine shop as well as incoming inspection.

Ø Knowledge of PC-DMIS CMM software, operation and programming

Ø Must be able to quote hours required for new job packages.

Ø CMM operation, set ups fixture design and prototype work

Ø Experience with CAD, Solid works software and some reverse engineering.

Ø Perform first article inspections as required.

Ø Perform inspections to support the component qualification process.

Ø Read and interpret specifications and part prints and GD&T.

Ø Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment as assigned.

Ø Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.

Ø Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions. Communicate with project engineers to ensure drawings are in compliance with the final product.

Ø Document information in various databases and other internal programs; logs the assembly non-conformities and generates a report NCMR-SDR.

Ø Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Including mentoring employees as required.

Ø Ensure that all required product has been tested and fall within standards, measured to specifications and within tolerances, readability of labels, etc.

Ø Abide by company rules and regulations. Maintain clean and safe work environment.

Ø Maintain quality system guidelines and processes.

Requirements : Ø High school or GED

Ø ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred but not required

Ø Minimum 5 years working in a manufacturing environment in Quality related position. Leadership experience preferred.

Ø Minimum 2 years’ experience in ISO9001 or AS9100 compliant company preferred

Ø Must be able to read blueprints

Ø Must be able to quote hours required for new job packages

Ø Must be able to accurately interpret GD&T symbols

Ø Must have a working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)

Ø Must be able to create / track NCMRs & SDRs (Non-Conforming Material Reports / Supplier Deviation Requests)

Ø Must have ability to manage multiple equipment calibration databases

Ø Must be able to use all types of measuring devices and if necessary, software needed to operate those devices

Ø Must be able to perform surface plate inspections

Ø Must have a basic knowledge of using Microsoft Excel and Word

Ø Knowledge of PC-DMIS CMM software preferred but not required

Ø Must be able to use (or learn) the Inspectionxpert software
