Position Overview:
We are actively looking to hire both a Construction Project Manager and a Construction Project Engineer to join our team!
The PM & PE roles will be outlined in interviews, but please see below for some of the daily duties.
You will be responsible for working on multiple construction projects for an Electrical Contractor.
This is a Project Engineer position, reporting directly to (3) Project Managers in the PM Department.
Monday thru Friday, 700AM-400PM in the El Cajon office, this is not a jobsite-based position.
PM Responsibilities:
- Manage changes in the field and create cost Change Orders to be issued to the G.C.'s.
- Plans / Project Documents Management
- Coordinate with the individual projects' foremen
- Create and issue RFI's and Submittals, receive responses and upload to Procore
- Receive and understand RFI's and direct field crews accordingly
- Generate, distribute, track submittals from start to finish
- Printing plans using in-house plotters
- Work with Suppliers and Vendors for buying materials
- Correspond with General Contractors and Vendors to meet end-goals
PE Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Managers with their duties and take directions to execute tasks to completion
- Plans / Project Documents Management
- Upload and manage plans using Procore software
- Create and issue RFI's and Submittals, receive responses and upload to Procore
- Receive and understand RFI's, upload to Procore and update new plans
- Generate, distribute, track submittals from start to finish
- Printing plans using in-house plotters
- Work with Suppliers and Vendors to assist the PM's in buying materials
- Correspond with General Contractors and Vendors to meet end-goals
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years minimum experience in Construction Project Engineering, or similar experience
- Deadline and detail oriented
- Must know how to read and understand construction plans
- Not required to be fluent in Plan Reading, but knowledge of Sheet Numbering, and organizing.
- MS Outlook and MS Excel experience a must
- Confident, efficient and effective communication with coworkers, clients, and vendors
- Positive Mental Attitude, friendly and focused in a self-motivating environment
