Description :
The CNC Mill Programmer is responsible for the generation and execution of .NC programs utilizing 3-4 Axis Vertical (Horizontal is a plus) CNC controlled equipment in a safe and efficient manner to produce quality goods. This position reports directly to the Manager and is responsible for the machining and manufacturing of parts meeting quality, cost, and delivery requirements set by the leadership team.
Pay is hourly with a 25% Differential for 2nd shift
Requirements :
Create and edit CNC programs (Mastercam) that support the machining of mixed complexity, precision metal components fabricated on multiple-axis CNC milling centers
Perform technical data package review of components required for manufacturing (model & engineering drawing validation)
Perform manufacturing process development & optimization (part setup / fixturing, machining strategy / order of operations, tool selection, speed / feed process parameter selection)
Identify, select, and procure appropriate tooling for job specific applications (based on part material, geometry, features, tolerances, system rigidity, and equipment capability)
Perform program prove-out validations (First Article Inspection, computer simulation tools)
Collaborate with team members to identify process improvement opportunities (reduced machining / setup time, improved part quality, reduced manufacturing risk)
Incorporate required design changes (customer driven changes, technical performance improvements, improved manufacturability) at varying stages of manufacturing process, as needed
Cross-functional team participation supporting program schedule & performance goals, mitigation of manufacturing risks, and improving operational efficiency
Operate and set up CNC machining equipment utilizing a wide range of controls
Ability to manage time and schedule
Ability to work independently without direct supervision
Strong technical knowledge of machining and quality control
Strong knowledge of G & M code programming
Strong ability to create and modify accurate programs using Mastercam software
Positive and effective communication with leadership and colleagues
3 years of CNC programming experience, Mastercam preferred
Regulated (Aerospace, Automotive, Medical) industry experience highly desirable
5 years of CNC mill experience
Experience with vertical and horizontal milling machines
