Job Details
Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Onsite Position
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and design network architectures that align with IT strategies for effective operations and service delivery.
Install and maintain network infrastructure solutions, including hardware and software for various projects.
Execute change management actions related to the administration of the network, providing troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Conduct lifecycle planning for capacity, performance, and resolution of chronic problems while developing implementation plans.
Engage with customers and departments, providing subject matter expertise in networking and information technology.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience required.
Minimum 5-7 years of enterprise IT experience with expertise in enterprise data routing and switching, voice, video, and wireless technologies.
Special Requirements:
CCNA, CCDP, or CCSA certifications are helpful but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expert-level knowledge of data and telecommunications technologies, including Ethernet, switching technologies, WAN, LAN, and various protocols.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to isolate and resolve network performance issues.
Proficient in enterprise-class routers and switches (Cisco, Juniper, etc.) and security engineering (firewalls, intrusion detection, etc.).
Experience with network operations toolsets and automation (Cisco Catalyst/DNA, GitHub, Python).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Additional Desired Characteristics:
Understanding of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.
Work Environment:
Position requires the ability to work remotely.
Minimal supervision with a need for independent operation.
On-call responsibilities for troubleshooting network issues.
