Steel Drawing Checker
- We are looking for a highly detail-oriented Checker to join our team.
- In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and marking up AutoCAD drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards (AISC, AWS, and NISD) before release to the field.
- The ideal candidate has strong experience in Structural Steel and miscellaneous metal detailing, along with expertise in checking shop and erection drawings.
- Review and mark up detailed shop and erection drawings independently.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications.
- Communicate project details and revisions to management and steel detailers.
- Maintain and update project files, including repeat designs and necessary alterations.
- In this role they will be checking up to 40 drawings a day and working on 7 to 8 projects a day.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Structural Steel or Miscellaneous Metal Detailing and Checking.
- Ability to read and interpret contract drawings, shop drawings, erection drawings, and project specifications.
- Experience with 3D modeling software such as Tekla and SDS/2.
- Strong knowledge of Structural Steel and miscellaneous metal fabrication processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with project teams.
- Experience in Tekla and SDS/2 Software
- Strong Understanding of Structural Steel
- Very Detail oriented and can handle high stress work environments
